Biologist & Software Developer

About

Hi! I’m Musabbir, currently a master’s student in Quantitative Biology by day and a software developer by night. I’m interested in mathematical modeling of cellular processes to understand how they organize themselves in tissue. Besides that I am also a full-stack web developer and likes to create educational contents.

Experience

Senior Lecturer, Department of Software Engineering

Daffodil International University

Jan 2022 – Sep 2025

Ironically enough, the guy who once swore degrees were overrated ended up teaching at a university. I actually enjoyed it, lecturing on statistics, machine learning, algorithms, and data structures, while juggling exam committees and accreditation work like a responsible adult. Now I’m on a study leave, mostly because I realized I kind of suck at research, and it’s time to figure out how not to.

Education

Università degli Studi di Milano

M.Sc. · Quantitative Biology
2025 – 2027

After four years in academia, I might finally have a clue what I want to do with my life. Turns out I’m more into developing simulation algorithms to study how cells evolve than watching my own plans mutate. Time to reconnect with my long-lost friend, biology.

Universiti Sains Malaysia

M.Sc. · Data Science and Analytics
2019 – 2021

I was already into software development, and AI was clearly the future. For once, I seriously studied big data, statistics, machine learning, and deep learning, something I actually liked. Turns out, paying attention works. This degree even got me my first real job, in academia of all places.

Mawlana Bhashani Science and Technology University

B.Sc. · Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering
2012 – 2018

Spent most of the degree questioning my life choices and nearly dropped out. But I had to do something, figured out that software developers don’t need degrees, learned to code, and found programming far more fun than memorizing biology. Somehow graduated in the end but knowing software development, not biology.
